Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 August 2026 · freehosting.nz hub and tools

1. Who we are

freehosting.nz is a collection of independent web tools built and hosted in New Zealand (the “hub” at www.freehosting.nz and related subdomains such as energy, budgeting, car data, your-own-site requests, wiki, git, and other tools we publish).

Contact: hello@freehosting.nz.

2. Relationship with mailme.nz

Many freehosting tools use mailme.nz for sign-in (OpenID Connect / SSO). Your mailme account and mailbox are primarily governed by the mailme.nz Privacy Policy. This page covers freehosting.nz websites and the data those tools collect in addition to mailme identity.

3. Information we collect

4. How we use information

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private tool data for third-party advertising.

5. Sharing

6. Storage, security and location

We host services in New Zealand where practicable. We use HTTPS and normal server access controls. You should still use a strong unique password on mailme and avoid putting highly sensitive secrets into tools that are not designed as vaults unless that tool documents stronger controls.

7. Retention

We keep account and tool data while you use the service. If you stop using a tool or request deletion, we remove or de-identify personal data within a reasonable time, subject to backups, security logs, and legal needs. Public wiki or forum posts may remain visible unless removed through that product’s process or by request where feasible.

8. Your rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold, and you may ask us to delete account data where practical. Contact hello@freehosting.nz. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz.

9. Children

These tools are not aimed at children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top will change. Continued use of freehosting.nz after an update means you accept the revised policy for future use.
